I grew up just down the road in Moses Lake, in the middle of wheat, corn and potato fields. I moved to Spokane in 2006 and work in a variety of restaurants, coffee shops and pizzerias. I spent 3 years in Seattle while Kendel, my wife, went to law school…I cooked and learned as much as I could. The defining era for me was two years spent at Altura on Capital hill. I butchered a lot of animals and cooked a lot of pasta. When we got back to Spokane, I couldn’t wait to continue that journey and we opened Gander and Ryegrass.

Spokane is where I met my wife, it’s where I came up in hospitality and its home, where we now raise two beautiful kids.
